Must Have Travel Organizers for the Monsoon Road Trip

The sunny days are gone. The first few sprinkles are here to change the landscapes – painting them lush green with misty clouds. The monsoons transform the mountains, waterfalls & valleys to picturesque paradise. And perhaps this is the reason why people wait for the monsoons to plan their long awaited Road Trips.

But before you place your hands on the wheels to zoooooom off to your travel destination, My Rustic Pages offers you some must have travel organizers that would be useful & helpful to you in making your journey smooth & organized.

  1. Car Backseat Travel Organizer

Car Seat-back organizing unit

As the name says it, the organizer snaps around the head rest of the car & gives the travellers a lot of pockets to place valuable items like the mobile, ipads, sunscreen lotions, bug sprays, chargers, water bottles & anything else you may need on the go.

This organizer is easily accessible inside the vehicle, where all your belongings are systematically placed & you don’t need to hover around to search stuff & make your car messy.

  1. Coin/Note Pouch

small purse for coins

Your road journey would always slow down at one place i.e the Toll Naka. We keep searching for “Chuttas” or we get it from the guys at the toll unit & we randomly place the currency inside the cup/beverage holder or in the storage department.  We choose to forget about it or keep searching where we have tucked the money away.

We advise you to carry a small pouch where you can put in the money & receipt, keep the pouch in front compartments & take money out of it whenever you want

  1. Fold-able Tote Bag

Folding bags

This is one of my favorite items on the list as the utility factor is high. It’s a foldable bag, so it folds up flat when not in use & you don’t have to worry about the added space occupied by a bag in the car. Since you are on a road trip you never know what can go wrong for eg. clothes can get dirty or wet can be tucked into the bag, snacks you purchase on the journey etc can be dumped into this storage & lots more.

  1. First Aid Kit

First aid kit

Missed by most of the road travellers but is one of the most important products that need to be inside the storage compartment of your car. Basic stuff like scissors, bandages, antiseptic, medicines etc should be kept inside the kit. It turns out to be handy in case of some mishap & you do not have to be on a look out of a medical store.

  1. Umbrella organizers

Umbrella covers

Its one of the interesting products you would find it online. Whether it rains or not you can tuck 2-3 umbrellas inside the organizer & place it on the back seat. You don’t have to worry about holding the umbrella in the hand or placing it near your feet or under the seat. Even if the umbrella is wet, you can fold it and place it in the organizer & dry it for further use.

  1. Folders for Car papers

This is extremely important & one should make a note or keep a checklist of the documents like car insurance, maintenance records etc. Keep a folder irrespective you are on the road trip with these essential documents & timely check it so you are assertive on the further course of action needed with your vehicle.

Well these are some suggestions by My Rustic Pages. Hope you like them.

Stay Organized !!!

Holidays are special, you get to unwind, relax, enjoy, spend time with your loved ones so on so forth. I guess  after a long time there was a 4 day holiday in a row and me & my friends decided to opt for a thrilling holiday at ADLABS AQUAIMAGICA.

Initially I was super excited simply because it had been really long I had visited to some water park, plus my experience of Adlabs Imagica had been good; so I was looking forward for some thrilling adventure with my friends.

So we got the on-line booking done which helped us to save some money & headed to our destination. My first encounter at the ticket window was not that great. We were nine of us & they had no intimation that we had paid the money already through the on-line system. After showing several proofs like the the banks  message etc, we were finally given our tickets after a 20 mins long wait.

We hopped into the bus which took us to our destination, purchased lockers, dumped our stuff & finally were all set for the twist & turns and ups  & downs of the rides. We initially completed two of the simplest  rides pretty quickly, I remember the name of the one i.e Splash. It was fun & crazy way of  getting yourself to dip in the water after all the laps & swirls. It was awesome.

But the awesomeness of the place took a back step when we had to wait  average of 45 mins each time for any of the ride we visited.  Although we enjoyed some of the rides like Swirl Whirl, Twisty Turly, Zip Zap Zoom, the wait to get into it; got on our nerves. These three rides were unique & different. I have never ever sat in rides like these before  & hence it was fun & entertaining. But the long wait took a toll on me because of which I had to miss the main attraction of Aqua ie the Loopy Woopy.  Yes I missed it, bcaz the queue to enjoy this ride was long & I was getting tired due to summer heat.

So instead of enjoying the big thrills we decided to become a child all over again. We ventured into the kids section – The Pirate Bay. Although there were times we could not fit into the slide, we were enjoying the water & simplicity of the bay. It was fun to become a kid again.

Then was the turn of the wave pool, with DJ at its peak & waves flowing over you, it was fun to dance & splash in the water. One thing I liked about aqua imagica the water was good, less chlorine & yet clean. Definitely better hygiene facilities visa vis the other water parks I have come across.

  1. Service – 4/5 : I would have given 5/5, but initial time we wasted to get entry gets the score down
  2. Cleanliness – 5/5 : If I don’t have a rash on my body, it means all is good
  3. Rides – 4/5 : Different types of ride, hence worth coming here at least once
  4. Waiting Time – 2/5 : Too much to wait
  5. Value for Money – 3/5 : The express people were lucky, we just managed to sit on each ride just once

Although it was a fun experience, I feel the experience could have been better if they restricted the entry or identified some means that eradicate the waiting queue. Rest seems perfect.

So if you want to have a funtastic holiday, splash & play with the water, get the adrenalin rush going.. you know where to head #AQUAIMAGICA

My Buffet Experience @ Tiffinbox etc.

Its that day of the month, where we officemates pool in to experience different cuisines & spend better time with each other. Food has been a very effective medium for us to create bond with each other, know people beyond their work life & spend time not talking work.tiffin-box-etc (1)

Well this month, we decided to go for a buffet spread purely because one gets the opportunity to eat variety of dishes at one go & also to avoid arguments like I don’t eat paneer, I  want spicy etc etc. among each other.

After much research, we finalized on having our lunch at Tiffinbox etc. Well to begin with, I like the name Tiffinbox, it makes you feel at home & makes you remind home kinda food no matter wherever you are.. Well that is how I would like to interpret.

With high hopes, we started with our 3 course meal with  soup & starters. Being a vegetarian I stuck to 3 starters – palak tikka, tandoori vegetables & shorba. My friends got only one addition of chicken starter. Well I thought it was a limited edition of a buffet but good food, not very spicy, perfectly cooked & most importantly tasty on the tongue.

tiffin-box-etcThe came the second course of meal which disappointed me a little. There were three varieties of vegetables/ sabzi – paneer tikka, mushroom peas & mixed vegetables with one dal. The sabzis were less oily though, but mediocre in taste. I expected the food to be hot but alas, it was not even warm. I personally did not understand the dal preparation, it was bland in nature with less or no enhancement of the tadka flavour. More so it was extremely cold which did not suit my taste buds. To add on, there was a stack of roti/ nan which had been kept maybe there since a long time & hence felt extremely rubbery when I ate.

The next came the desserts. It is said, if the cream piping on the cake is good, you would love the cake irrespective of the base offering. But there was no piping on the dessert. Confused ??..Well so was I. We were served only baby gulab jamuns &ice-cream. A buffet which does not offer a spread of sweet offerings is not worth any amount you pay.

So overall if i need to sum up my experience, I would rate this place as follows

Food – 2.5 out of 5

Ambience – 3.75 out of 5

Staff – 3.5 out of 5

Cost – 2 out of 5

I hope TiffinBox, you will take this feedback positively.

Weekend Fest @ COOL JAPANESE FESTIVAL, Phoenix – Mumbai

Have you ever visited Japan sitting right here from your home town Mumbai. Well, I got the opportunity to take a virtual tour of Japan @ the press conference of COOL JAPANESE FESTIVAL held at Phoenix Mills Mumbai.

This is the 5th edition of festival organized by Maido Enterprises & the Consulate of Japan. To grace this occasion, Miss Japan World 2015 – Chika Nakagawa was invited to speak about this year’s theme –“ Let know about Japan”.  She spoke about how she wants the world to know about Japanese food which is much more beyond Sushi, get people to know about their culture – similarities with the Indian tradition & create a better connectivity between India & Japan.

With loads of positivity & enthusiasm she invited us to dine with her & explore the authentic  Japanese food. Reluctant at first go, as I was unsure how would the food taste, did they have vegetarian offerings & mostly eating with chopsticks…I did not want to make a fool of myself .

Well, much too my comfort I got to know that Japanese do eat vegetarian food. I was first offered three different types of Sushi, dipped in soy sauce. It did taste a little bland at first but it had a different flavour which was then soothing to the palette.

The next on table was a meal called OBENTO, a whole meal pack which consisted of veg salad with tofu pieces, some noodles with mushroom, rice rolls with loads of veggies, Tonkatsu – fried potato tikki & veg momos called gyoza. A wholesome meal that stuffed my belly & at the same time full of nutrition & non fried.

But how could a meal end without any drink. And when you say a drink in Japanese consider it has to be the famous Green Tea.  We were offered the most famous drink of Japan called the Matcha Latte which comprised of green tea & milk with sugar…yes you read it right, green tea with milk. Well it was little difficult for me to adjust my taste buds with this new latte flavor. It was definitely one of the healthiest drinks I ever had.

Indeed it was a fun event where I learnt a lot about Japanese food. But there is much more to explore about this lovely country. And we have a chance to just do the same @ COOL JAPANESE FESTIVAL held at Phoenix mills this weekend i.e. on 6th & 7th Feb 2016. Phoenix mills offer their patrons an opportunity to eat, sleep & live the Japan way by organizing

  • Traditional art performances like Kendo – sword fight, dance & singing
  • Cosplay Fashion show where comics & pop culture will unite together
  • Play Taiko a musical instrument
  • Explore traditional cuisine like Donburi, Doryaki, Nissin cup Noodle, Obento & yes our favorite Sushi

Hurry up !! Wait for none. Rush to the Phoenix this weekend & LIVE JAPAN.
